Leunis Van Es

Leunis van Es came to the University in 1918 to serve as head of the Animal Pathology Department. His tenure lasted until 1945 and he is credited with turning the focus of the department from practice to research, emphasizing disease prevention, hygiene, sanitation and animal first aid.
