Leo A. Daly Co.

Leo A Daly Co. is an Omaha based architecture firm founded in 1915. Now an international architecture, engineering and planning enterprise, Leo A Daly is the largest privately owned practice in the United States. Important early local projects included the Master Plan for Boys Town in 1922, and the Creighton University Administration Building. In the 1960s important works included Omaha’s Woodman of the World Tower and the Strategic Air Command (SAC) Headquarters. The firm expanded into the Middle and Far East in the 1970s and established offices throughout the US. In 1997 the firm designed the World War II Memorial in Washington DC.

Management of the firm has been passed from Leo A Daly Sr, who managed the firm through the 1940s, to Leo Daly Jr., who became President and led and expanded the firm from the 1950s to the1970s. Leo Daly III has served as President and CEO since 1981.

Leo A Daly Co. designed many educational facilities and in 1953 the firm was hired to design University High School. The firm also designed Women’s PE (Mabel Lee Hall), as well as Lyman Hall (razed) and Biochemistry Hall.
